Meet Lucia. She is our head seamstress and is incredibly talented! She has used her talents as a seamstress to bless others all her life. She began sewing when she was a young child in Haiti, using charcoal from the coals of the fire to make patterns for her dolls. She moved to the Dominican Republic with her husband and five children many years ago.
Lucia has worked for Levanta Ministries in the Artisan Program in the Dominican Republic since 2020 making one-of-a-kind handbags and accessories that have been sold in the United States. Levanta Ministries is excited to announce that the Artisan Program has expanded and will now operate under the brand that shares her name... LUCIA.
The brand LUCIA uses high quality donated fabric and materials from various vendors as our raw materials. Lucia and our other seamstresses use these materials to create a variety of products and accessories. All of the revenue generated from these sales goes directly back into the parent organization, Levanta Ministries, to help provide employment and support our efforts in the Dominican Republic.
